jade & mia

lucky lucky me! these girls were just a couple of cuddle bunnies!  such sweet sisters :)  AND these photos are a fine testament that you can take amazing portraits right in the backyard somewhere.  (i spose it doesn't hurt to have super cute subjects either though...)
miss jade did all of her own posing :)
it was a little chilly and a little windy --but i love it anyway :)
little miss mia with her pinkie in her mouth--how adorable is this?
sister love.
and the next two are just kind of awesome :)
these girls are actually all the way from california.  at the last minute, grandma decided it would be great to have their photos done before they went home, so we squeezed them in just a few hours before they had to leave for their flight!  what a great idea! if you can't have them near you, at least you can have some great photos of them :)  soooo of course we had to have just a few with grandma too!

peace, love, and happy photography!

the d fam

i met up with the d family in sioux falls at sertoma park and that place is awesome!  i had no idea that they had a pretty trail that went behind the park near the butterfly house.  this photo shoot was also especially fun for me because i went to school with cassie, and it was so neat to see how big her boys were getting!
 fave :)
these boys were certainly busy, so we had to make up a "frozen alien" game (it made perfect sense at the time!) in order for me to get these shots of them--ha!
 quite the serious fella :)
 and freeze!  hehe
i love natural photos of families interacting
 wooohoo, we're all smiles here!
owen got pretty tuckered out from the shoot as you can see
however, declan wasn't too tired to play in the leaves :)
ready? 1...2....3....weeeee!
have you thrown some leaves this fall yet?  don't forget before it's too late-- i promise, it will only take a few moments out of your busy day and it is well worth it as you can see here :)

the s fam

lucky for me and the s family, the weather cooperated so we were able to bounce around to a few different spots and have some fun with various backdrops!  you will be surprised at what you can find in the small town of flandreau.  see if you can guess where we are in these, i bet we stump you in a few :)
so this photo is a little on the funky side, and i really like it! i also especially like the little smile on james here :)
sometimes its nice to have some of just mom and dad :)
just holding hands--so simple and so sweet   :)
another favorite right here (okay, well i guess they are all favorites...), we had to battle the sun a bit for this one, but it was all worth it.  how awesome is this?!
when the lighting is just right....
:)
aaaaannndddd, i had to catch a few of the brothers rockin' it on their skateboards!
check it yo. (said in my cool skater voice)
*sigh* wish i could do stuff like that, but i'm not brave enough. and with my family history of crashing and burning whilst trying to pull off various stunts, i probably better steer clear and just take photographs of the awesomeness instead. because i need my legs to function. both of them.  :)

peace, love, and happy photography!

the j fam

was it raining? yes it was.  was it pretty wet? yes it was.  did we take family photos anyway? you bet we did!  meet the lovely j family who is not afraid of soggy bottoms in the least! :)  here are a feeeew of the results--my personal faves! i love this first one, and no, not everyone is looking at the camera. and yes, i really like it that way--you can see how much this mom and dad adore their little ones :)
sooo what do we do when it's raining outside on picture day? find some shelter under the trees of course!  we took most of our photos under some large trees, which was not a problem for these two little monkeys!
handsome little man :)
check out the baby blues on this chickadee!  (for the record, sometimes i will saturate eye color to make it more intense, but i did not do a single thing for this little cutie--seriously, her eyes just are this beautiful!)
haha, like i said, we took a lot of photos in the trees, which was just fine with this little man who loved to climb!  :)
:) love the fall colors of grass
okay george this is just for you!  george found a little friend after we finished up--hehe, i asked him to give the toad a little kiss....but that was a no go :)
peace, love, and happy photography!
